Poltergeist is a German word meaning " noisy spirit ". Many people believe a Poltergeist is an invisible ghost that interacts with us by means of influencing inanimate objects.There are lots of stories, and many detail bed-shaking, furniture being moved, objects being thrown ,and levitation .

Poltergeist activity may actually have nothing to do with ghosts or spirits. As the activity always seems to centre around an individual,it is believed that it is caused by the subconscious mind of that person. The individual in question is often under emotional, psychological or physical stress (even going through puberty).

ENFIELD POLTERGEIST

One of the most documented poltergeist case's was in Enfield , london, A woman and her four children, who were living at a council house at the time experienced all kinds of Poltergeist phenomena ever identified,over 1500 seperate incidents were recorded.

A Photographer investigating the phenomenon was hit on the head by a toy brick,apparently the brick had materialised out of thin air, flew across the room and hit him. Many item's were said to catch on fire on there own accord,metal objects were also thought to twist and bend for no reason.

The most alarming part of the Enfield Poltergeist was the possesion of 12 years old Janet,a deep gruff voice would replace her own,Janet would also be constantly levitated out of her bed and trapped against the ceiling.

These event's took place between August 1977 and september 1978, this case has baffled many people over the years and can be classified as a true "classic" poltergeist case.
